LP: Revenant

This poem smolders in the deepest chambers of my heart. In the places you can’t find on an anatomy chart, where the parts ache with longing without logic, nerve endings or reason. It speaks to the ethereal love only found on the other side.

I’ll wait.

For time to stretch out like the tide

reaching through dimension and resurrection

slipping like silk against skin,

your touch delayed

then relayed with rapture

spiraling faster and faster

to burn your memory into my mind.

I’ll wait.

For dead suns to pull me into their horizons

rejoining the infinite and revenant

ending our estrangement by element,

your love unwithered

then delivered with wrath

God the path and aftermath

our penance paid with patience.
